Ikea

Heard from my colleague who was at Ikea on Sunday that he and his little encountered an incident there. 

It seems that while my colleague's wife was queuing up at the counter to buy food, my colleague and his little daughter was waiting at a table where this family had finished eating.  But instead of leaving the table, they were sitting there and my colleague did not mind about it as he was thinking that this family might just want to sit a few more minutes before continuing their shopping. 

To the surprise of my colleague, instead of just passing the table to my colleague they passed to another family that was just starting to look for a table to sit.  Mind you that the family that was sitting at a table was a malay and the other family that was just starting to look for a table was also a malay.  This was witnessed by a quite a few people.  My colleague (chinese guy & little daughter) who was patiently waiting was quite disappointed with this incident and here our PM has been promoting the 1Malaysia concept. 

Another chinese family who had witnessed the incident called my colleague's daughter to sit with them as they will be finishing soon and my colleague & his family can have the table once they are done. 

Ok, I do know that there are still people who practices racism but am disappointed that this is happening here in Malaysia when our PM has been promoting the 1Malaysia concept.  =(
